Aerophone mini Update Procedure (Android)
INTRODUCTION
Updating the Aerophone mini is carried out using
Aerophone mini Plus, the dedicated smartphone app for the Aerophone mini.Before you start, download Aerophone mini Plus to your smartphone.
* When carrying out the update, use a USB AC adaptor. At this time, set the Power Select Switch to [ USB ].
* Before you start, connect your smartphone to an AC power source as well, or check to make sure the phone has ample remaining battery power.
* Never turn off the power to the Aerophone mini or the smartphone while the update is in progress.

UPDATE PROCEDURE
Step 01: Update the Aerophone mini Plus app to the latest version.
Use the latest version of Aerophone mini Plus to carry out the update for the Aerophone mini.
Follow the steps below to check whether the Aerophone mini Plus app is at the latest version.
- Access Aerophone mini Plus.
- If the download icon is displayed as [ Update ], tap the icon to update the app to the latest version.
* If it is displayed as [ Start ], the app has already been updated to the latest version.
* If [ Download ] is displayed, download the app. The latest version is downloaded.
- Place a smartphone on which the Aerophone mini Plus app is installed near the Aerophone mini.
- Set the Aerophone mini's [
] switch to the 
position.
The Bluetooth LED (blue) flashes.
- Go into the smartphone's settings and turn on the Bluetooth function.
* If "AE-01" is displayed in the "Available devices" list, don't tap it yet.
- Start the Aerophone mini Plus app.
* If the message "Allow Aerophone mini to access this device's location?" appears when you start the app, tap [ ALLOW ].
- If the Aerophone mini and Aerophone mini Plus have previously been connected, then when Aerophone mini Plus starts, the message "Connected to AE-01" is displayed and the Bluetooth LED (blue) lights up.
* If the "Select MIDI" screen appears when you start Aerophone mini Plus, tap [ AE-01 ] to establish the connection. Make sure the message "Connected" is displayed, then tap [ Back ].
- When the message "Connected to AE-01" appears, tap [ OK ].
* If the connection fails to be established after starting the Aerophone mini Plus app, follow the steps below to make the connection.
- Tap [
].
- Tap [ Connect ].
- Tap [ AE-01 ] to establish the connection.
- At "Bluetooth Pairing Request," tap [ Pair ].
- The message "Connected to AE-01" appears and the Bluetooth LED (blue) lights up.
* Depending on usage conditions, "AE-01" might be displayed as "AE-01 1" or the like.
Step 03: Check whether the updater is present.
When a connection is established between your Aerophone mini and Aerophone mini Plus, a check for the presence of the updater is made automatically.
If an updater exists, the message "There is a new version of Aerophone mini system software. Would you like to update now?" is displayed. Tap [ OK ].
Refer to "Step 04: Update method" and apply the update.
Step 04: Update method
- The Roland Software License Agreement is displayed. Read through it to the end.
When you reach the end, the message "I AGREE" is displayed. Tap to select and apply a check mark.
- Tapping [ Update ] starts the update to the Aerophone mini.
* If the "Select MIDI" screen appears when you tap [ Update ], tap [ AE-01 ] to establish a connection again. Make sure the message "Connected" is displayed, then tap [ Back ].
* The update requires approximately 2 minutes to finish.
- When the update is complete, the message "Update finished, Please restart Aerophone mini" appears.
Tap [ CLOSE ] and turn the power to the Aerophone mini off and back on.
- Check to make sure the Aerophone mini has been updated to the latest version.
