Standard Features
RD-2000

Performance Powerhouse

The RD-2000 is a dream come true for the performing keyboardist. It features dual sound engines that power our best acoustic and electric pianos, plus the finest action we’ve ever put in a stage piano. There’s a massive selection of top-quality ensemble sounds to cover any musical task, as well as two Wave Expansion slots for adding even more sounds. And with its innovative modern interface, the RD-2000 is the perfect master controller for working with today’s software-based instruments on stage.

RD-2000

Unlimited Expression with V-Piano Modeling Technology

The RD-2000 brings you magnificent acoustic pianos powered by Roland’s evolving V-Piano technology. Our proprietary modeling approach realizes the complex sound and interactive feel of an acoustic piano down to the finest details, backed by a speedy DSP engine that eliminates the tonal limitations, memory issues, and polyphony roadblocks of purely sample-based systems. Every note is incredibly rich, natural, and responsive, while full-keyboard polyphony lets you play and create without compromise. And with a range of intuitive tools, you can customize deep parameters to shape your perfect piano voice—or craft instruments never heard before.

RD-2000

Historic Electric Pianos

The RD-2000’s dedicated SuperNATURAL sound engine puts an impressive selection of classic electric pianos at your fingertips. Create using the authentic sounds of go-to icons from the ’60s and ’70s. Or explore spot-on recreations of the RD-1000—the very first RD stage piano—and the MKS-20 sound module, whose unique musical voices are instantly recognizable from 1980s hits and beyond. Vintage effects are also on hand for retro color, including the famous BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble and Roland SDD-320 Dimension D.

RD-2000

Ensemble Sounds for Every Genre

Along with its world-class acoustic and electric pianos, the RD-2000 includes over 1100 premium sounds for covering any style of music with just one keyboard. The versatile SuperNATURAL engine delivers signature Roland expression for everything from Virtual Tone Wheel organs, modern and vintage synths, and other keyboard instruments to orchestral strings and brass, world instruments, and more.

RD-2000

Superb Playability

The PHA-50 progressive hammer-action keyboard with escapement is the ideal platform for playing the RD-2000’s responsive acoustic and electric pianos. This innovative keyboard features hybrid keys constructed of wood and molded materials, combining classic feel with rugged durability. Together with Roland’s advanced sensor mechanism and hammer-action design, the PHA-50 delivers authentic grand piano touch that’s right at home under your fingers.

RD-2000

Command and Control

The intuitive RD-2000 interface combines enhanced functionality and expressive hands-on operation. Eight knobs and nine sliders provide instant control for sounds, effects, and more. The knobs feature LED indicators for visual feedback, enabling precise edits and swift parameter changes. Eight assignable zones and a Scene function offer flexible sound mapping and convenient keyboard setup recall. And with Roland’s pitch/mod lever, dual modulation wheels, and independently assignable controls per program, you have expressive options for every performance style.

RD-2000

Connect with DAWs and Performance Software

The RD-2000’s USB audio/MIDI interface makes it easy to integrate virtual instruments from a laptop running your favorite host software. Control computer-based synths within zones along with internal sounds and route their audio through the RD-2000 to create a powerful hybrid rig. The interface supports 24-bit audio at rates up to 192 kHz, allowing you to access your highest-quality sounds.

RD-2000

Flexible Audio Outputs

With its versatile outputs, the RD-2000 is ready to connect with any stage or studio setup. Main stereo outs are provided on XLR and ¼-inch jacks, and there’s also a sub output to route internal sounds and USB audio independently.

RD-2000

Essential Accessories

The RD-2000 features multiple inputs for damper control and expression pedals. The DP-10 damper pedal is included, while the optional RPU-3 combines three pedals into one compact unit for a genuine grand piano experience. The optional KS-G8B stand features a sleek design, durable steel piping, and rigid bracing, providing solid support and three-way height adjustment for sitting or standing.

RD-2000

EX Sound Expansion

The RD-2000 EX Upgrade available on Roland Cloud equips an original RD-2000 model with EX specs, including the German Concert and Essential Upright V-Piano Expansion titles.
