Los Angeles, CA, January 10, 2013 — The GRAMMY Museum Experience @ Sprint Center in Kansas City is a one-of-a-kind, 21st-century interactive area that explores and celebrates music, the creative process, technology, recording and — the GRAMMY Award. An exclusive hands-on Roland LIVE section of this exhibit gives GRAMMY Museum visitors a chance to play electronic musical instruments and lets them explore and learn how today’s music is crafted. Open to the public, the GRAMMY Museum Experience @ Sprint Center provides an ongoing opportunity for teachers, students and music lovers of all ages to experience music making with Roland and BOSS products in an interactive, educational and inspirational environment.
“The GRAMMY Museum Experience @ Sprint Center is an exciting interactive celebration of the power of music,” said Tim Leiweke, President and CEO of AEG. “Opening this facility will certainly further the mission of the GRAMMY Museum Foundation to educate and inspire music fans of all ages.”
GRAMMY Museum Experience visitors of any experience level can enjoy a wide variety of activities using Roland and BOSS musical instruments such as hand percussion on the HandSonic, performing as a mobile keyboardist on the Lucina AX-09, and making beats on the SP-404SX Sampler. Stations are set up to allow participants to play a full V-Drums kit, to learn how to play a famous song on the HPi-7F Digital Piano, to sing with custom vocal effects on the VE-5 Vocal Performer, and to create a signature guitar tone using BOSS pedals. Visitors can also mix original multi-track recordings from George Harrison, Whitney Houston, Bob Marley and Lamb of God on four BR-1200CD Digital Recording Studios. CM-220 Cube Monitor systems for high-fidelity audio playback are featured throughout the museum’s exhibits as well.
Music novices and seasoned guitar enthusiasts alike will all have the opportunity to test drive some of the world’s most iconic stompboxes as part of the Roland LIVE experience, including the DD-3 Digital Delay Pedal, CH-1 Super Chorus Pedal, DS-1 Distortion Pedal, FDR-1 Fender Deluxe '65 Reverb Amp Pedal, and AC-3 Acoustic Simulator Pedal.
