Los Angeles, CA, June 24, 2010 — The votes are in and the two winning choirs have been selected for the “Most Powerful Voices” choir contest, sponsored by the Gospel Music Channel, the American Heart Association’s Power to End Stroke Campaign, and Roland Corporation U.S. The winner in the large choir category is Zion Movement from Chicago, Illinois. The small choir category winner is James Andrews Choir and New Seasons from Indianapolis, Indiana.
Both choirs received $5,000 in musical instruments and recording gear from Roland, including the brand new V-Combo VR-700 Keyboard, the AX-SYNTH Shoulder Synthesizer, KC-110 Battery-Powered Keyboard Amplifier, and CD-2e SD/CD Recorder with CS-15R Stereo Microphone Kit. Additionally, James Andrews Choir and New Seasons were chosen by EMI Gospel as the Grand Prize winner and will receive a professional coaching session from Gospel Artist Myron Butler.
This online choir competition, which ran from January 1st to April 6th, was designed to involve entire worship communities, and encouraged church members, their friends, co-workers, or others in their social network to vote for their favorite choir at the contest website, http://choir.gospelmusicchannel.com.
Both choirs performed at the Power Awards Show on May 7th in Harlem, New York, accompanied by Roland-sponsored artist Don Lewis on the V-Combo VR-700. The annual event, hosted by the American Heart Association, honors individuals who have engaged in exceptional stroke-prevention awareness efforts in their communities.

The Power Awards will air on The Word Network in June.
