National Accounts Sales Manager

Division: Sales
Reports to: Vice President of Sales

Summary Description

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Sales the National Accounts Sales Manager is responsible for key elements of the account relationships; ensuring proper brand representation; achieving budgets; developing and executing strategic initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures proper brand representation through accounts managed.
  • Drives sell in and sell through strategy working with product management and marketing communications.
  • Maintains excellent communication with account merchant teams.
  • Works with Roland marketing to develop promotional calendar and execute promotions utilizing all account marketing vehicles and in store resources.
  • Ensures visual merchandising plan and standards.
  • Uses inventory analysis tools and skills to recognize additional turn opportunities and address issues.
  • Leads P.O.S. execution including visual merchandising, staff knowledge, staging and maintenance.
  • Facilitates effective bidirectional communication between the Roland Corporation and the customer.
  • Maintains excellent communication with all key account personnel.
  • Works closely with Roland Corporation U.S. and global staff and resources to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely efficient manner.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Ensures the accuracy and quality of set-up information (including SKU builds) for the customer’s ordering systems and websites.
  • Adapts Sales Ops generated change-guides and cost updates to pricing.
  • Pulls / analyzes Open Order reporting.
  • Pulling sales history for the purpose of assortment review pointing out missed best-sellers, under-represented categories, SKUs that are (or will be) discontinued.
  • Analyzes customer-provided sell-through reporting with the aim of identifying under-performing and overstocked SKUs.
  • Serves as expert in all procedures relating to Roland National Accounts order entry management, PO confirmation, and shipping procedures.
  • Reviews in-stock reporting for sale/closeout opportunities and facilitates discussion. Provides related analysis, and coordinates approval of discounts, terms, and freight.
  • Proactively drives resolution of accounts reconciliation related matters.

Requirements

Education/Experience: Previous key account management, successful retail music sales and/or successful wholesale music sales experience is required with understanding of sales planning, managing profitability and achieving sales results. A firm understanding of Roland’s products and the ability to convey the benefits of each. Copy-editing experience is a plus. Prior National Account / Mass Merchant experience is a plus.

Skills: Exceptional sales, customer service, and account management skills. Extreme attention to detail, the ability to follow through, and the ability to take direction. A self-starter that can work independently and as part of a larger team. Efficiency minded with the ability to juggle multiple tasks. Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical and PC skills – Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Knowledge: Familiarity with or ability to learn all Roland analytical systems.

Computer Skills: Must be fluent in MS Office suite (Word and Excel). Knowledge and usage of computer programs that apply to electronic musical instrument applications (e.g., Digital Audio Workstations, Editor/librarians, and programs made to connect to physical instruments).

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures. Ability to write reports, and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability: Ability to calculate amounts; understand contracts and budget reports. Ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

Physical Qualifications: Must be able to read and comprehend and have sufficient hearing to determine audio characteristics as well as support telephone, office and event communications.

Must also be able to bend, push, pull, and reach above head, forward and from side to side to move or access products required for use from the retailer, warehouse, or other location. Requires daily and constant use of hands, arms, and wrist movement for PC and telephone work. Must be able to read and comprehend what is read as well as have sufficient hearing to determine audio characteristics, support telephone, office and event communications.

Location of Position: Position will be based in Los Angeles County and requires the employee to work onsite two to three days per week as part of a hybrid schedule.

Any remote work/telecommuting arrangement may be discontinued by the Company at any time and at the discretion of the Company.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000.
