Did You Know? Drawbar Organ on the RD-700NX By Corey Fournier You may have never played a drawbar organ with a rotary speaker, but did you know that the faders on an RD-700NX become drawbars in the tone wheel organ patches? It’s true — there’s a virtual drawbar organ built into the RD-700NX, complete with drawbars and a rotary speaker simulator. If you have played a B3™ organ with a Leslie™ speaker, you might be looking for “the switch” to change rotary speaker speed. On the RD-700NX, it’s the S1 button on the far left side of the keyboard, not far from where it would be on an organ. Here’s how it works: Press the ORGAN button. Press the right arrow button. Now, the faders control the drawbars in the screen (press any Zone Switch button to go from upper to lower drawbars), and the rotary speaker speed can be switched from slow to fast by simply pressing the S1 button. Hopefully this will give you confidence in exploring this exciting and unique feature on the RD-700NX.
