A New Integrated-Studio Standard

De in 2003 uitgekomen MV-8000 is inmiddels het kloppende hart van ontelbare Hip-Hop- en R&B-studio’s. Dankzij een meteen vertrouwde bediening en de mogelijkheid om met een VGA-scherm en een muis te werken vormt hij immers de gulden middenweg tussen hard- en softwaresystemen. De MV-8800 trekt die lijn door en scoort, qua flexibiliteit en functies, nog veel hoger.

Synthese, sampling, opname, mixen, masteren


De MV-8800 is een volwaardige sampler en synthesizer. Zijn parameters kun je natuurlijk met de toewijsbare regelaars editen en je instellingen zelfs automatiseren. Tegelijk (of alternatief) kun je echter met een optioneel VGA-scherm en de bijgeleverde muis werken. Maar deze productiestudio is evenzeer een multitrackrecorder met een automatiseerbare 24-kanaals mixer en een grootse effectsectie. Logisch dus dat je hier tevens een “Mastering Tools”- sectie vindt met een parametrische equalizer, een expander, een multibandcompressor, een limiter en een “Soft Clip”-algoritme voor een overtuigende bitreductie (dithering).





Geleverd met klankbibliotheek


Voor je producties kun je kiezen uit zelf geprogrammeerde sounds en telkens 128 instrumenten of drumsets, die je van de interne harde schijf kunt laden. Die bibliotheek bevat 16 “vintage”- drumsets van o.a. de legendarische Roland TR-808 en TR-909. Natuurlijk zijn er ook akoestische en elektrische piano’s, strijkers, gitaren, kopers, synthesizerbassen en nog vele andere klanken.





Tempovaste audiodata


Alle audioloops, hits en frasen lopen altijd keurig in de maat met de ingestelde BPM-waarde. Dankzij de Tap Tempo-functie kun je de BPM trouwens heel intuïtief instellen – en het audiomateriaal volgt gewoon! Ook de toonhoogte van het audiomateriaal kan naar wens worden aangepast. Eindelijk kun je binnen de kortste keren audiofragmenten van diverse origine bijeengooien en er een swingend geheel van maken.





‘Vintage’- en eigentijdse effecten


Ook qua effecten is de MV-8800 helemaal mee met zijn tijd – dankzij modellen van “klassiekers”, zoals de SRVgalmapparaten van Roland, de SDD-320 Chorus, SBF-325 Flanger, de Boss BF-2- en HF-2-pedalen evenals de legendarische RE-201 Space Echo. De multieffectprocessor bevat tevens een analoge modelingbas, zeg maar een virtuele SH-synths specifiek voor baspartijen.
