Звуковой модуль XV 5050 — уменьшенный вариант модели XV 5080. Он имеет полифонию 64 голоса, 16-частную мультитембральность, 64 Мбайта семплов в ROM (есть два слота для установки дополнительных плат серии SRX), 1280 пресетных пэтчей (в том числе 256 пэтчей, совместимых с GM2, и 128 пэтчей с синтезатора Fantom), 128 пользовательских пэтчей, 64 пресетных и 64 пользовательских перфоманса, 25 пресетных наборов ударных (9 из них совместимы с GM2) и 4 пользовательских.

Есть три процессора эффектов: ревербератор (5 типов, на основе устройства SRV 3030), хорус (3 типа) и процессор мультиэффектов (90 типов, в том числе имитаторы гитарных усилителей по технологии COSM, в режиме перфоманса — до трех мультиэффектов одновременно). Кроме того, на каждом выходе есть двухполосный эквалайзер.

Модуль имеет жидкокристаллический дисплей (2 строки по 20 символов) с подсветкой, порт USB для подключения к компьютеру (вместо MIDI), три MIDI разъема, четыре аналоговых выхода (джеки, цифро-аналоговые преобразователи 24-разрядные), цифровые выходы формата SPDIF (электрический и оптический, поддерживают разрядность 24 бита и частоту дискретизации 44,1 кГц), выход для наушников.

Прилагаются программный редактор для PC и Mac, USB-драйверы для Windows ME/98/98SE/2000, Mac OMS и OSX.

Модуль однорэковый, весит 2,6 кг.

Studio-Quality Effects and Digital Outputs
In addition to amazing sounds, the XV-5050 includes three independent effects processors with everything from 24-bit reverb to chorus, plus 90 multi-effects including COSM® Guitar Amp Modeling. And with 24-bit converters and digital outputs in S/PDIF and optical formats, your music will be reproduced with the utmost clarity and detail.

Easy USB Connection
If you make music on a PC, you’ll appreciate the XV-5050’s front panel USB port. Just load the USB driver from the included CD-ROM and suddenly MIDI cables are a thing of the past. (Of course, the XV-5050 is equipped with standard MIDI connections as well.) Now you can get XV-quality sounds with the simplicity of USB.

An “SRXpandable” Module
With two slots for Roland’s SRX-Series Wave Expansion Boards, you can customize your XV-5050 with up to 192MB of quality-focused sounds. Each expansion contains 64MB of new sounds and patches, and can be user-installed in seconds. With five expansions currently available and more under development, the XV-5050 will sound fresh for years to come.

  • XV-5050 System Update Version 1.08 (PC)

    This is the PC version of the update files for the XV-5050. Please refer to the readme document enclosed to perform the update.

    Note to PC Users:
    If you are having problems sending these files from your sequencer, or if you need a sequencer to send these files, download the PCSMF Update Application located here.

  • Important Note About USB Port

    This update must be done through the MIDI port of the XV-5050. You can NOT use the USB port of the XV-5050 to perform this update.

  • Clean-All USB Driver Utility

    This utility clears out all Roland USB Windows drivers and should be used if you are having difficulty installing your USB driver.

    Note: You will have to reinstall the drivers for any other Roland device that is using a USB connection for Audio or MIDI.
