SPD-SX PRO System Program (Ver.1.20) HOW TO FIND THE VERSION Please check the current version of the system program on your SPD-SX PRO before downloading the file. Press the [MENU] button. The MENU screen appears. Use the cursor buttons to select "SYSTEM". Use the cursor buttons to select "SYSTEM INFO", then press the [ENTER] button. The SYSTEM INFO - VERSION screen appears. Look at the version number on the VERSION tab. * If the latest version is shown, no update is necessary. Bug Fix Other minor bugs. WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE UPDATE SPD-SX PRO USB flash drive * The USB flash drive need to be formatted on the SPD-SX PRO. (Up to 32 GB) A computer with a USB connector (Windows, Mac) CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE Never use this update on any other product than the SPD-SX PRO, as it may harm other devices' data or system programs. Never power off your SPD-SX PRO while the update is in progress! If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the SPD-SX PRO may not start up in normal operating mode, which requires servicing. If this occurs, contact the Roland service center near you. We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. DOWNLOADING AND UNARCHIVING THE COMPRESSED FILE Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the "I agree" check box. Click the "Download" button to download the system program (spdsxpro_sys_v120.zip). Unarchive the downloaded file. Windows: Right-click the file and click "Extract All", then click "Extract". macOS: Double-click the file to unzip it. "spdsxpro_sys_v120" folder appears. Open the "spdsxpro_sys_v120" folder and copy "SPDSXPRO_UPA.BIN" to the level displayed immediately on accessing the USB flash drive (the USB flash drive's root directory). * Never double-click "SPDSXPRO_UPA.BIN" displayed inside the folder after unarchiving or changing the file name. * Be sure not to copy the entire extracted folder. UPDATE PROCEDURE Caution Never use this update on any other product than the SPD-SX PRO, as it may harm other devices' data or system programs. Turn off the SPD-SX PRO. Connect the USB flash drive containing the "SPDSXPRO_UPA.BIN" file to the USB MEMORY port on the SPD-SX PRO. Hold down the [START/STOP] button and turn on the SPD-SX PRO. * Keep holding down the [START/STOP] button until "PROGRAM UPDATER" appears on display. The update starts automatically. When "Please turn off the power." appears on display, turn off the SPD-SX PRO. Remove the USB flash drive from the USB MEMORY port. Turn on the SPD-SX PRO and confirm it has been updated to the latest version. If the SOFTWARE has been updated or upgraded, any transfer of the SOFTWARE must include the most recent update and all prior versions. (c) If this SOFTWARE contains multiple templates of media (such as floppy disks and CD-ROM) and these media contain the same software, you may use only the one form of media that is appropriate for your computer.
