RD-88 System Program (Ver.1.13)

HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
Before you start, check the system program version of your RD-88.
  1. Press [ MENU ] to invoke the MENU screen.
  2. Use the cursor [ V ] button to select INFORMATION, then press the [ ENTER ] button.
    The version information screen appears.
* If this shows the latest version, there's no need to update your RD-88.

Additional Functions / Functionality Improvements
  • "START/STOP" was added to the PEDAL ASSIGN settings (SYSTEM and SCENE).
  • "Reset User Data" and "Remove License" functions were added to UTILITY > FACTORY RESET.
  • The [ BANK ] LED now automatically goes dark when FAVORITE BANK is selected.

[ Ver.1.10 ] MAY 2020
Support for Sound Content Distributed Via Roland Cloud
Installation of Sound Pack and Wave Expansion distributed through Roland Cloud is supported.
* Sound Pack and Wave Expansion are sound content usable on products equipped with the ZEN-Core Synthesis System.
* Some Sound Packs include Drum Kit, but Drum Kit cannot be imported into the RD-88.

Additional Functions / Functionality Improvements
  • EXZ and SDZ Download Content is now supported.
    Please refer to the "RD-88 SOUND PACK/WAVE EXPANSION Install Manual" for detailed information in the [ Owner's Manuals ].
  • "SCENE DOWN" and "SCENE UP" were added to the PEDAL ASSIGN settings (SYSTEM and SCENE).
  • The UTILITY > IMPORT TONE screen display was improved.
Bug Fixes
The following bugs were fixed.
  • The [TRANSPOSE] button is illuminated when the setting "Transpose = 0" is in effect.
  • Minor bugs have been fixed.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE
  • RD-88
  • USB Memory
    * The USB Memory need to be formatted on a RD-88.
GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Download the file named "rd88_sys_v113.zip".
The downloaded file is an archive file in zip format. Right-click to select Extract All, and then follow the instructions.
PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Creating the Update USB Memory
  1. Copy update files MI076_UPA_up.bin to the root directory of a USB Memory.

Update Procedure
  1. Connect the USB Memory to the USB MEMORY port.
  2. Hold down the [ 9 (OTHER) ] button and turn on the power.
    The message " RD-88 Updater... " appears on the display, and the update operation starts.
    * Continue to hold down the [ 9 (OTHER) ] button until " RD-88 Updater... " appears on the display.

  3. When the message " Please power off " appears, the update operation has finished.
    * The update operation takes about 2 minutes.
  4. Press the power button to turn off the power.
    Detach the USB Memory from the RD-88.

  5. This completes the update operation. The new system program runs at the next startup.
    Follow the procedure for verifying the version to verify that the version has been updated.
