R-07 System Program ( Ver.1.112 )


HOW TO TELL THE VERSION
Please check the version of the system working on your R-07 before downloading the archive file.
  1. Press [ MENU ] to invoke the menu screen.
  2. Use the [ Down/Up ] button to select "16 Information," then press the [ REC ] button.
    The message "Information" appears.
  3. Use the [ Down/Up ] button to display "VERSION."
    The current version of the R-07 is displayed.
  4. After checking the version, turn off the power to the R-07.
* Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.

Additional Functions
R-07 itself
  • Added a function to limit the volume when using headphones.
    (Because there is a risk of damage to hearing when recording / playing at high volume for a long time.)
    When using headphones, if the volume is set to 55 or higher, the message "Increase volume? It may damage your hearing." appears.
    If the volume is set to 55 or higher and the headphones are plugged into the PHONES jack, the message "Keep volume high? It may damage your hearing." appears.
    If you choose "No" and press [ REC ], the volume is limited to a maximum of 54.
    If you choose "Yes" and press [ REC ], the volume limit will be lifted for the next 20 hours of continuous playback.
  • The initial value of "Date & Time Adj." ([ MENU ] - "Bluetooth" - "Remote Control") was changed to "ON."
R-07 Remote
  • Added a function to limit the volume when using headphones with the R-07 itself.
    (Because there is a risk of damage to hearing when recording / playing at high volume for a long time.)

R-07 itself
  • You can connect the R-07 via USB to your computer, iPhone, or iPad, and use it as a USB audio interface.
    Supported operating systems are as follows.
    Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10
    OS X 10.10, OS X 10.11, macOS 10.12, macOS 10.13, macOS 10.14
    iOS 11, iOS 12

    * Only Sample Rate "44.1 kHz / 48.0 kHz" is supported.
    * It does not support Android.
  • If "Recording mode" is set to 2xWAV (Dual level recording), you can adjust the volume of the quieter recording.
  • The name of the CODEC on the connected Bluetooth A2DP device is now displayed on the Bluetooth/Information screen.
R-07 Remote
  • By operating an "R-07 Remote" app installed on your mobile device, you can simultaneously control up to four R-07 units.
    You can also start recording on multiple R-07 units simultaneously.
  • You can perform playback operations from an Apple Watch.

Functionality Improvements
R-07 Remote
  • Operation from an Apple Watch even while the iPhone is in sleep mode is now possible.
  • Connectivity between the R-07 and R-07 Remote has been improved.

Bug Fixes
The following bugs were fixed.
R-07 itself
  • Transfer speed when connected via USB sometimes grows slow.
  • The rehearsal function fails to work when the Rec Mode is set to "2xWAV (Dual level recording)."

< If You're Using R-07 Remote >
Using the new functionality in R-07 Remote requires updating the R-07 Remote app.
iOS version
Use R-07 Remote when updated to version 1.1.2 or later.
* R-07 Remote version 1.1.2 can be used under iOS 11 and after.

Android version
Use R-07 Remote when updated to version 1.1.2 or later.
* R-07 Remote version 1.1.2 can be used under Android 5 and after.

Bug Fix
The following bug was fixed.
  • Lengthy recording times sometimes produce an unplayable file.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE YOUR R-07
  • R-07
  • Micro USB cable (Dedicated charging cables cannot be used.)
  • A computer with a USB connector ( Windows, Mac )

CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the R-07. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your R-07 while the update is in progress!
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.

GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Please open/extract the downloaded "r07_sys_v1112.zip" file on your computer to get the update file in the "r07_sys_v1112" folder.

PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Caution
  • You must not rename the extracted file.
  • When performing the update, keep the unit supplied with power via the USB port.
    If performing the update while the unit is running on battery power is unavoidable, before performing the update, check to ensure that sufficient battery power is remaining.
  • Never turn off the R-07's power while the update is in progress. Otherwise the system program or the R-07 itself may be destroyed.

Please install the extracted system program file into your R-07 according to the following procedure.
  1. Turn on the power to the R-07.
  2. Connect the computer to the R-07's USB port by a USB cable.
    When the message "Select USB Mode" appears on the R-07's display, select "Storage" and press the [ REC ] button.
    When a connection is established between the R-07 and the computer, the message "Now connecting" appears on the R-07's display.
  3. Open the "R-07" drive folder in your personal computer.
  4. Inside the "r07_sys_v1112" folder is R-07.UPD. Copy this R-07.UPD (by dragging and dropping) to the "R-07 (Removable Disk or NO NAME)" drive's root directory (the hierarchical level reached immediately after opening the drive).
    * Do not copy the "r07_sys_v1112" folder.
  5. After copying the file is completed, remove the USB drive from the personal computer.
    With Windows
    Right-click on the "R-07" icon in My Computer and execute "Eject."
    With macOS / OS X
    Drag the "R-07" icon to the Trash icon in the Dock.
  6. Disconnect the USB cable.
  7. Turn off the power to the R-07.
     
  8. Using the USB cable, again connect the R-07 and the computer.
    (Connect the USB cable and supply power via the USB port).
  9. Hold down the [ REC ] button and again turn on the power to the R-07.
    The message "Program Update" appears on the display.
  10. When the message shown on the display changes to "Update, Push [REC]," press the [ REC ] button to start the update.
  11. When the message "Complete!!" appears on the display, the update has finished.
  12. Disconnect the USB cable.
  13. Turn off the power.

* Updating can also be performed by inserting into the R-07 a microSD card on which R-07.UPD has been saved in the root directory.
* For the microSD card to use for updating, use a card that has already been formatted (initialized) on the R-07.
