Bio

Canadian synth popper, Grimes, released her debut album Geidi Primes in 2010. This was quickly followed by her second album Halfaxa, and a split release with fellow electro- pioneer d’Eon. These early releases set out her stall as one of the most interesting characters in electronic music and won her the respect of artists across the board from pop to hip hop. However, it wasn’t until her 2012 album, Visions, that Grimes attracted the attention she deserved. The album was widely regarded as one of the best of the year.

Grimes came down to the Roland artist room a few years back, just before the release of the incredible Visions. Signed to the great 4AD label in the UK, she is doing things her way. She tells us how she nearly had her Gaia synth stolen (During a gig) and what she really thinks punk means. She now carrys her Gaia in a backpack so she is never far away from partner in crime.
