Record and perform with drums captured in one of the world’s most famous recording spaces with Wood Room Studio UK Vol. 01, a premium sound expansion for the V71 module. It features a vintage US-made drum set meticulously sampled in the Wood Room at the legendary Real World Studios facility in Box, England. The drums were selected and played by renowned UK drummer Chris Whitten, whose credits include Paul McCartney, The Waterboys, Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians, and many others.

Our multi-sampled V-Drums Instrument Expansions feature world-class acoustic drum sets recorded by leading engineers and producers in the finest studios. They offer exceptional sound resolution, multi-layer sample playback, and randomized round-robin triggering for a natural sound. Roland’s proprietary behavior modeling adds the finishing touch, refining the sound with smooth, artifact-free transitions for every articulation and over 16,000 variations in dynamic response with our digital pads.

About Wood Room Studio UK Vol. 01

This collection features a five-piece vintage kit made from American maple, plus two well-known snare drums with aluminum and black cherry shells. The US-made tom and kick shells were used by session players on countless iconic recordings from the late 1960s and 1970s, and their warm, resonant sound remains favored by Chris Whitten and many other modern drummers. Five versatile presets include kits with the spacious sound of Real World’s Wood Room mixed up front and others with a slightly tighter, more direct sound.

About V-Drums Instrument Expansions

V-Drums Instrument Expansions allow you to add new sounds to the V71 module, including complete multi-sampled acoustic drum sets, vintage and modern electronic sounds, and more. Each title provides finely tuned kits that are ready to play with no adjustment necessary. You can freely mix and match drums with the module’s onboard sound library and other installed expansions to create customized kits. It’s also possible to use the module’s deep V-Edit tools to personalize sounds to your liking.

V-Drums Instrument Expansion titles are available with Roland Cloud Ultimate or Pro memberships or a Lifetime Key purchase. Use the Roland Cloud Connect app on your mobile device to wirelessly download a collection directly to the V71 module. Or open Roland Cloud Manager on your computer to download the installer, then transfer it to an SD card for installation via the module’s card slot.
