HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION

Before you start, check the system program version of your JUPITER-X.

Press the [MENU] button.
The MENU screen appears.
Use the [1] knob or the PAGE [Λ] [V] buttons to select “INFORMATION”, then press the [ENTER] button.
The version information screen appears.
* If the latest version appears, there is no need to update your JUPITER-X.

Additional Functions

The model “JUPITER-X” has been newly provided as a preloaded model.
The model “JUPITER-X” is a new model that takes the model “JUPITER-8” as its motif and is designed with the aim of achieving the ideal analog synthesizer configuration. Through such moves as adoption of four oscillators, seven types of waveform selection, implementation of oscillator pan and oscillator delay, adoption of a variety of velocity sense functions, and more, this provides new vintage synth expressiveness that transcends the boundaries of vintage synths.
The functionality of I-ARPEGGIO has been extended.
- I-ARP TYPE setting values have been increased from 55 to 65 (10 more) and I-ARP RHYTHM setting values have been increased from 44 to 65 (21 more).
- Mode switching has been added to enable easy switching of simple arpeggios and step sequencers for each individual part.
- It is now possible to change styles and variations for each individual part by using I-ARP and the ARP mode.
- A Probability function has been added. This makes it possible to assign a probability to the sound production of each note, and also enables changing its extent through interlinking with I-ARPEGGIO.
New preset sound content has been added.
(New scenes: 80 types, JUPITER-X model tones: 158 types)
About the new scene and tone data
When a Factory Reset operation is carried out while you select the “Reset User Data” check box, the new scenes appear from the beginning of scenes. However, this operation also reset scenes and tones you created. So please export any needed scenes and tones before performing the Factory Reset, then reimport the needed scenes and tones afterward. To be safe, we recommend performing a backup operation before carrying out the Factory Reset as well.
The number of scenes and the number of user tones have both been increased from 256 to 512.

Functionality Improvement

Various improvements to the user interface have been made.
- When setting parameter values, a value list can now be displayed by pressing the [ENTER] button.
- The structure of the view displayed when the [MENU] button is pressed has been reorganized.
- The naming screens for scenes, tones, and the like have been improved.
- The order of Z-Core Tone parameters has been reorganized.

Additional Functions

“SINGLE SETUP” has been provided, making it possible to change to the settings for only a single part and play tones. This is useful when selecting and playing individual tones from respective models.
“Step recording” has been added for using the keyboard to input notes for individual steps in STEP EDIT.
“Real time recording” has been added for recording notes played during playback in STEP EDIT.

Functionality Improvement

The display view in the scene select mode has been improved.
When selecting parts for a scene, it is now possible to check the settings for the respective parts and to change tones.
The interface for operating STEP EDIT has been improved to make it more intuitive.

Fixed a problem in Ver. 1.40 the setting SYSTEM EQ/COMP > MASTER COMP to “ON” caused no sound.
The “10 Exciter” and “67 Phonograph” MFX types added in version 1.40 fail to function.
When making the “DlyType” setting for “SCENE EFFECT: Dly” or “SYSTEM EFFECT: Dly”, an incorrect setting value can sometimes be selected.

Additional Functions / Functionality Improvements

Supports the Roland Cloud content “JD-800 Model Expansion”.
MFX types have been added (Phonograph, Exciter, and JD-Multi).
SYSTEM/SCENE effect types have been added (Chorus: JV Chorus, Reverb: Gated Reverb).
MFX types can now be classified by category.
MIDI Control Change (CC) messages are now effective with specific tone parameters.
The MODEL RD-PIANO can now also be used with PART 2 through 4.
* When RD-PIANO is used with a PART from 2 to 4, ordinary MFX is applied instead of the model-specific Sympathetic Resonance effect.
TONE values are now also concurrently initialized during SCENE initialization.
It is now possible to manipulate HPF parameters using the HPF knob at the TONE EDIT screen when using ZEN-Core Tones.
It is now possible to manipulate PULSE WIDTH MOD and CROSS MOD parameters using the OSC3 / OSC4 slider when using JP Model Tones.

Additional Function

Import and Export functions for Tones are provided.
Tone data can be exchanged with products compatible with the ZEN-Core Synthesis System.
Tone data can also be exchanged with Model Expansions (JUPITER-8/JUNO-106/SH-101/JX-8P Model Expansions) distributed via Roland Cloud.
* The Model Expansions just described can be imported into ZENOLOGY for use.
Import and Export functions for Scenes are provided.
SCENE movement between the JUPITER-X and the JUPITER-Xm is also possible.
“SCENE > TONE WRITE” has been added to the WRITE menu.
SCENE and TONE settings can be saved at the same time.
A function for initializing system parameters has been added to the FACTORY RESET function.
The Remote Keyboard function from a MIDI device connected to a USB port (COMPUTER or MEMORY) is supported.
Parameters for settings during a USB connection have been added to Remote Kbd in the SYSTEM parameters.
Parameters for settings during a USB connection have been added Sync Mode and Sync Out in the SYSTEM parameters.
The HOLD pedal can now be used when inputting notes in STEP EDIT.
This is useful when inputting chords using both hands.

Support for Sound Content Distributed Via Roland Cloud

Installation of Sound Pack and Wave Expansion distributed through Roland Cloud is supported.
* Sound Pack and Wave Expansion are sound content usable on products equipped with the ZEN-Core Synthesis System.
* Some Sound Packs include Drum Kit, but Drum Kit cannot be imported into the JUPITER-X.

Additional Function

EXZ and SDZ Download Content is now supported.

Additional Functions / Functionality Improvements

In the operations in “Editing the Sound (TONE EDIT)”, it is now possible to edit multiple parts simultaneously.
This is also available during performances.
Key Transpose for a pattern input using the STEP EDIT function is now possible by keyboard operation.
(ARP PART EDIT > STEP MODE: KEYSHIFT)
Added the function (L / R Dual) to operate Pan of Part 1 and Part2 at the same time during Dual performance.
([SHIFT] + [DUAL])
A function for copying parameters between partials on Partial-equipped Models (other than Analog Synthesizers and VOCODER) has been added.
(Display the copy-source Partial screen, then use the [SHIFT] + [WRITE] + copy-destination Partial button)
A screen displaying all key ranges of each part (KEY RANGE SETTINGS) has been added to the MENU screen.
This is convenient when making settings for split sounds in combination with I-ARPEGGIO.
A function for assigning the number of the Scene to recall at unit startup (Startup Scene) has been added.

A function that produces a warning so as to prevent unintended Scene changes (Scene Lock) has been added.

In the STEP EDIT function, it is now possible to input the end point of a Tie by pressing the [SHIFT] + [1]-[16] buttons when the cursor is over the note where you want to input the Tie.
The MIDI channel can be set for each Parts.
(SCENE PART EDIT > MIDI Rx Ch)
* Along with this specification change, “MIDI Basic Ch” has been removed from SYSTEM.
A setting function (USB Audio Thru) for mixing USB Audio In with USB Audio Output has been added.

A setting function (AUXIN USB Thru) for mixing AUX IN or Bluetooth into USB Audio Output has been added.

A key lock function has been added to the [PART] button.
Pressing and holding the [PART] button makes the button flash and engages Key Locking.
The operation while pressing the [PART] button can be operated by releasing the [PART] button.

Removed Function

The function for setting KEY TRANSPOSE using the keyboard while holding down the [TRANSPOSE] button has been removed.
* This avoids unintended changes in the KEY TRANSPOSE value when working with the [TRANSPOSE] button.

Tone Fixes

The tones produced when the [UNISON] button is set to “on” while using an Analog Synthesizer MODEL were not as intended; this has been corrected.
In connection with this, the parameter that changes when the [UNISON] and [MONO] buttons are pressed has been changed from “PART” to “TONE”.
For RD-PIANO's Preset Tones, the changes in tone due to the intensity of velocity have been adjusted.
The Controller Assign settings for some preset scenes have been revised.
(The JUPITER-X is updated with the revised settings when the operation in “Returning to the Factory Settings (Factory Reset)” is carried out.)
* Returning settings to their factory-default value initializes all settings. Before returning the unit to its factory defaults, be sure to use the backup function to save the current settings.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE

JUPITER-X
USB Memory
* The USB Memory need to be formatted on a JUPITER-X.

CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE

Never apply this update data to any product other than the JUPITER-X. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
Never power-off your JUPITER-X while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the JUPITER-X won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.

DOWNLOADING AND UNARCHIVING THE COMPRESSED FILE

Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the “I agree” check box.
Click the “Download” button to download the system program (jupiterx_sys_v303.zip).
Unarchive the downloaded file.
- Windows: Right-click the file and select “Extract All”, then click “Extract”.
- macOS: Double-click the file to unzip it.
  * Never double-click “MI077_UPA_up.bin” displayed inside the folder after unarchiving.
Copy “MI077_UPA_up.bin” to the level displayed immediately on accessing the USB flash drive (the USB flash drive's root directory).

PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE

Turn the power of the JUPITER-X off.
Connect the USB flash drive in which you saved the “MI077_UPA_up.bin” file to the JUPITER-X.
While pressing the [WRITE] button, turn on the power.
* Continue pressing the [WRITE] button until “JUPITER Updater...” appears.
“JUPITER Updater...” appears on the screen and the update starts automatically.
* It takes about 2 minutes for the update to complete.
When the display indicates “Please power off”, turn the JUPITER-X's power off.
Disconnect the USB flash drive from the JUPITER-X.
The update operation is finished. The new system program will be run at the next startup. Check to make sure the version has been updated.

* For Ver. 3.0 or later, Write operation immediately after the update may take 1 minute, but this is not a failure.

ACUERDO DE LICENCIA DE USUARIO FINAL

Este Acuerdo de Licencia de Usuario Final (“EULA”) se celebra entre el consumidor individual o la entidad comercial que utilizará el Software (“Usted”) y Roland Corporation (“Roland”).

Este CLUF rige su uso de: (A) la versión del código objeto del software de la marca Roland que se descarga en el hardware de Roland o que se le proporciona de otro modo en virtud de un contrato de compra, presupuesto, formulario de pedido, factura o proceso de adquisición en línea (cada uno de ellos, un “Pedido”); (b) las claves de licencia de software asociadas, si las hubiera (“Claves de licencia”); (c) las actualizaciones de dicho software (“Actualizaciones”); (d) la documentación de dicho software; y (e) todas las copias de lo anterior (colectivamente, “Software”). 1. Concesión de licencia.

1,1. Derecho de uso. C. Tratar el Software como información confidencial de Roland;
D. Utilice el Software únicamente en tantos ordenadores o dispositivos que haya adquirido, en las configuraciones permitidas por Roland o Roland, como se especifique en su Pedido;
E. Cumplir las leyes de control de exportaciones y sanciones económicas de los Estados Unidos, la Unión Europea, México y otras jurisdicciones aplicables. H. Utilizar cualquier marca comercial o marca de servicio de Roland, sus afiliados o proveedores;

O. Utilizar el Software para crear una oferta competitiva;
P. utilizar el Software para crear otro software, productos o tecnologías, a menos que el Software contenga Herramientas de desarrollo como se describe en la Sección 6;
P. Compartir o publicar los resultados de cualquier evaluación comparativa del Software sin el consentimiento previo por escrito de Roland;
R. Asignar este CLUF, o cualquier derecho u obligación bajo este CLUF, o delegar cualquier ejecución, sin el consentimiento previo por escrito de Roland, a menos que usted transfiera el Software de acuerdo con la Sección 3 de Transferibilidad que aparece a continuación. 5. Software libre. “Software libre” se refiere al Software que se le proporciona sin cargo adicional. Usted sólo puede utilizar el Software Libre en o con equipos o en los entornos operativos para los que Roland ha diseñado dicho Software Libre para operar. Roland puede rescindir cualquier licencia del Software Libre en cualquier momento y a su entera discreción. Usted no puede transferir Software Libre a nadie más.

6. Herramientas de desarrollo. 7. Software de evaluación. 8. Rescisión. Para el Software de suscripción, este CLUF finaliza automáticamente al final del período de suscripción, a menos que renueve sus derechos. Roland podrá rescindir este CLUF si usted o un Tercero permitido comete un incumplimiento material de este CLUF y no resuelve dicho incumplimiento en un plazo de treinta (30) días a partir de la recepción de la notificación de Roland. Este derecho de rescisión se aplica en consecuencia si Roland o el Distribuidor al que realizó la compra no recibe el pago oportuno por las licencias del Software o por el hardware en el que se ha cargado el Software, si procede. Cuando este CLUF termina, todas las licencias concedidas terminan automáticamente y usted debe cesar inmediatamente el uso del Software y devolver o destruir todas las copias del Software. A menos que Roland acuerde lo contrario, usted no recibirá un reembolso de Roland si este CLUF se rescinde. Las limitaciones, exclusiones y renuncias de responsabilidad establecidas en un Acuerdo preexistente o en los Términos de venta de Roland que se aplican a su Pedido (en cada caso, los “Términos del Pedido”) se aplicarán a todas las disputas, reclamaciones o controversias (ya sean contractuales, extracontractuales o de otro tipo) Entre usted y Roland o Roland en relación con: (A) este EULA; (b) el incumplimiento, terminación o validez de este EULA; o (c) cualquier Pedido (cada uno de ellos, una “Disputa”). Si la legislación aplicable prohíbe cualquier parte de los límites de responsabilidad indicados a continuación, las partes acuerdan que dicha limitación se modificará automáticamente, pero sólo en la medida necesaria para que la limitación cumpla con la legislación aplicable.

A. Limitación de Daños Directos. Excepto por su obligación de pagar por el Software, o por su violación de la concesión de licencia y las condiciones de licencia establecidas en el presente documento o de los derechos de propiedad intelectual de Roland o Roland, la responsabilidad total de usted y Roland (incluidas las filiales y proveedores de Roland) El resultado de cualquier Disputa se limita a la cantidad que usted pagó por el Software que es objeto de la Disputa, pero excluye las cantidades recibidas como reembolso de gastos o pago de impuestos. Sin perjuicio de lo dispuesto anteriormente, Roland y sus afiliados no tienen ninguna responsabilidad por daños directos resultantes del uso o intento de uso del Software de Terceros, Software Libre o Herramientas de Desarrollo.

B. Exención de responsabilidad de ciertos otros daños. A excepción de su obligación de pagar por el Software, O por el incumplimiento de las Condiciones de licencia y concesión de licencia establecidas en el presente documento o de los derechos de propiedad intelectual de Roland o Roland, ni usted ni Roland (incluidos los afiliados y proveedores de Roland) tendrán responsabilidad alguna en virtud de este EULA por daños especiales, consecuentes, ejemplares, punitivos, incidentales o indirectos, o por pérdida de beneficios, pérdida de ingresos, pérdida o corrupción de datos, pérdida de uso o adquisición de productos o servicios sustitutivos.

10,2. Copias de seguridad periódicas. Usted es el único responsable de sus datos. Debe realizar una copia de seguridad de sus datos antes de que Roland o un tercero realice cualquier reparación, actualización u otro trabajo en sus sistemas de producción. Usted reconoce que es una práctica recomendada tener más de una copia de seguridad de sus datos. Si la ley aplicable prohíbe la exclusión de responsabilidad por la pérdida de datos, Roland sólo será responsable del coste del esfuerzo típico para recuperar los datos perdidos de la última copia de seguridad disponible.

10,3. Período de limitación. Excepto en los casos indicados en esta sección, todas las reclamaciones deben realizarse dentro del período especificado por la ley aplicable. Si la ley permite que las partes especifiquen un período más corto para presentar reclamaciones, o la ley no proporciona un tiempo en absoluto, entonces las reclamaciones deben hacerse dentro de los 18 meses después de que se acumule la causa de la acción.

11. Términos adicionales.

11,1. Avisos. Las partes facilitarán por escrito todos los avisos bajo este CLUF. A menos que se indique lo contrario en un Pedido, deberá enviar avisos a la entidad local de Roland en su Pedido o, si su Pedido no pertenece a una entidad de Roland, por correo electrónico a webmaster@rolandus.com.

11,2. Renuncia y divisibilidad. El incumplimiento de una disposición de este CLUF no constituirá una renuncia a esa o a cualquier otra disposición de este CLUF. Si un tribunal de jurisdicción competente determina que cualquier parte de este EULA o documento que incorpora este EULA por referencia no es aplicable, esa resolución no afectará a la validez de todas las partes restantes.

11,3. Modificaciones. Este CLUF sólo puede ser modificado por escrito y firmado por ambas partes; sin embargo, Roland puede, a su entera discreción, actualizar los Términos de Suscripción de Roland en cualquier momento. Cualquier cambio que Roland realice en los Términos de suscripción sólo se aplicará a los Pedidos que se produzcan después de que Roland publique dichos cambios en línea.

11,4. Ley aplicable y jurisdicción. Si usted obtuvo el Software directamente de Roland, entonces la ley y jurisdicción del estado de California se aplican sin tener en cuenta sus conflictos de disposiciones legales. Esta Sección 11,4 no le priva de la protección que le brindan las disposiciones de las leyes obligatorias de protección al consumidor que le son aplicables, ni le impide buscar remedios o hacer cumplir sus derechos como consumidor bajo tales leyes.

11,5. Resolución de disputas y arbitraje individual vinculante (no de clase). Todas las disputas se resolverán exclusiva y finalmente mediante arbitraje individual vinculante. Esto significa que usted y Roland renuncian a cualquier derecho a litigar disputas en un tribunal o ante un jurado y ni usted ni Roland tendrán derecho a unirse, consolidar, o incluir cualquier reclamación que pertenezca a, alegada o que surja de, por o en nombre de un tercero a un arbitraje entablado por el presente documento, o para arbitrar cualquier reclamación como una acción colectiva, representante de la clase, miembro de la clase o en una capacidad privada de abogado general. Si usted reside en (u obtuvo el Software en) los Estados Unidos, el arbitraje será administrado por la Asociación Americana de Arbitraje (AAA), o JAMS. El arbitraje se llevará a cabo en inglés. El panel de arbitraje tendrá autoridad exclusiva para resolver cualquier asunto de arbitrabilidad, incluyendo cualquier disputa sobre este EULA o el alcance, aplicación, significado y aplicabilidad de esta disposición de arbitraje. El panel de arbitraje estará facultado para conceder cualquier medida de reparación que esté disponible en el tribunal, incluyendo, sin limitación, la reparación preliminar, la reparación judicial y la ejecución específica. Cualquier laudo del panel arbitral será definitivo y vinculante inmediatamente cuando se dicte, y podrá dictarse sentencia sobre el laudo ante cualquier tribunal de jurisdicción competente. Si alguna parte de este acuerdo de arbitraje se encuentra inaplicable, la parte no aplicable se separará y los términos de arbitraje restantes se aplicarán (pero en ningún caso habrá un arbitraje de clase).

11,6. Derechos de terceros. A excepción de lo establecido expresamente en este CLUF, este CLUF no crea ningún derecho para ninguna persona que no sea parte del mismo, Y ninguna persona que no sea parte de este CLUF podrá hacer cumplir ninguno de sus términos ni confiar en ninguna exclusión o limitación contenida en el mismo.

11,7 Acuerdo completo. Usted RECONOCE QUE HA LEÍDO ESTE CLUF, QUE LO ENTIENDE Y QUE ACEPTA QUEDAR OBLIGADO POR SUS TÉRMINOS, Y que este EULA, junto con los Términos del pedido en los que se puede incorporar este EULA (según corresponda), es la declaración completa y exclusiva del acuerdo entre usted y Roland en relación con su uso del Software.
