R-26: Recording an External Audio Device (Mixer, iPod, CD Player, etc)

The following article will guide you through setting up the R-26 to receive line level signals coming from an external device such as a mixing console, iPod, CD Player, etc.

  1. Press the MENU button.

  2. Touch REC SETUP.

  3. Touch REC MODE and select 2 CHANNEL.

  4. Touch REC SOURCE, touch REC SOURCE again and then select ANALOG.

  5. Press the MENU button.

  6. Touch INPUT SETUP.

  7. Touch ANALOG IN.

  8. Touch INPUT TYPE and select LINK.

  9. Press MENU three times to return to the main screen.

  10. Press the SENS button.

  11. Adjust the SENS to "+4dBU".

  12. Press the SENS button again to return to the main screen.

  13. Connect the stereo outputs of your external audio device into the 1/4" inputs 1 and 2 of the R-26.
    Note: This may require adapter cables.

  14. Turn up the output level of your external audio device that is being sent to the R-26.

  15. Press REC on the R-26 to enter record stand-bye.

  16. Play audio from your external audio device.

  17. You may use the INPUT 1 knob to adjust the gain level for both inputs 1 and 2 (both left and right).
    Note: INPUT 2 knob has no function in this setup.

  18. Press REC again to begin recording.
  19. Press STOP to end recording.
