Fantom-G6/-G7/-G8 System Update Version 1.20

Roland announces the release of version 1.20, a software update to our flagship Fantom-G series workstations. This free upgrade offers a number of innovative new features and enhancements to our highly successful Fantom-G series including 1GB Ram support and Auto-Track function:

  • New functions for selecting parts and patches within the Fantom-G 152-track song recorder
  • New Auto-Track function automatically selects the same track number as the part being recorded and automatically names the track with the patch or sample
  • Input quantizing can now be changed in real-time, enabling you to vary the amount of swing and groove as you record
  • New SMF export and new song and phrase edit parameters
  • A new mixer view lets you display and automate controller data for each part using the Fantom-G’s faders and control knobs
  • Support for 1GB RAM memory (Sold separately)
  • Various system enhancements and improvements

IMPORTANT: You must carefully follow the instructions contained within the file "READ_ME_FIRST.pdf". Failing to do so may result in loss of data!

NOTE: The update files that you download and save to your computer from the link above are enclosed in a compressed zip file. These files will need to be extracted from the zip file before you can update your machine.
You can do this by using the WinZip application on your PC running Windows XP, or by using Stuffit Expander on your Macintosh (needed for OS 10.2.x or below). If you’re using Mac OS X 10.3.x or above, then you will not need Stuffit Expander.

When you double-click on the downloaded file that you saved to your computer, WinZip or Stuffit Expander should startup automatically. If you do not have WinZip (PC) or Stuffit Expander (Mac) installed, then you must download it, install it, and extract/unzip the update files folder before you can complete the update procedure.
