TR-1000 System Program ( Ver.1.11 )
You can also update the TR-1000 with the dedicated app "TR-1000 app".

HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
Before you start, check the system program version of your TR-1000.
- Press the [ MENU ] button.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "UTILITY."
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "INFO."
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
The current version number is shown in the display.
* If this shows the latest version, there's no need to update.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE
- TR-1000
- USB flash drive
* The USB flash drive need to be formatted on a TR-1000.
* USB flash drives with a capacity of 64 GB or less are supported.
CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the TR-1000. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your TR-1000 while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the TR-1000 won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
- We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
- Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the "I agree" check box.
- Click the "Download File" button to download the system program (tr1000_sys_v111.zip).
- Unarchive the downloaded file.
- Windows: Right-click the file and select "Extract All," then click "Extract".
- macOS: Double-click the file to unzip it.
PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Caution
- You must not rename the extracted files.
- Never turn off the TR-1000's power while the update is in progress.
Creating the Update USB flash drive
- Copy "TR1000_UPDATER.bin" to the level displayed immediately on accessing the USB flash drive (the USB flash drive's root directory).
STEP 1: Backing Up to USB Memory
- Connect the USB flash drive to the USB EXTERNAL DEVICE port.
- Press the [ MENU ] button.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "FILE."
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "BACKUP."
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "USB EXTERNAL."
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
- Edit the name if necessary.
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
A confirmation message appears.
- To execute, use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "OK," and press the [ ENTER ] button.
* The backup operation takes about 20 minutes.
STEP 2: Updating to TR-1000
- Connect the USB flash drive containing the update file to the USB EXTERNAL DEVICE port.
- Press the [ MENU ] button.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "UTILITY."
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "INFO."
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
The display indicates "Update available."
- To execute, use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "OK," and press the [ ENTER ] button.
The message " EXECUTING.. " appears on the display, and the update operation starts.
* The update operation takes about 3 minutes.
- When the message " Completed. Turn off power. " appears, the update operation has finished.
- Turn off the power.
Detach the USB flash drive from the TR-1000.
This completes the update operation. The new system program runs at the next startup.
Follow the procedure for verifying the version to verify that the version has been updated.
STEP 3: Returning to the Factory Settings
* To update the tone data, you must perform a FACTORY RESET.
- Press the [ MENU ] button.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "UTILITY."
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "FACTORY RESET."
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "ALL," then press the [ ENTER ] button.
A confirmation message appears.
- To execute, use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "OK," and press the [ ENTER ] button.
- When the display indicates "Completed. Turn off power." turn the TR-1000's power off and on again.
STEP 4: Restoring Data That Was Backed Up to USB flash drive
- Connect the USB flash drive to the USB EXTERNAL DEVICE port.
- Press the [ MENU ] button.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "FILE."
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "RESTORE."
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select "USB EXTERNAL."
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
The RESTORE screen appears.
- Use the [ C6/VALUE ] knob to select the file that you want to restore.
- Press the [ ENTER ] button.
A confirmation message appears.
- To execute, use the [ VALUE ] knob to select "OK," and press the [ ENTER ] button.
The message "EXECUTING.." appears on the display and the restore starts.
* The restore operation takes about 20 minutes.
- When the display indicates "Completed. Turn off power." turn the TR-1000's power off and on again.
