* To use the RF Scan and RF Alert functions, please update the DrumLink Hub using the PC application "DWe Control" Ver.1.7.0 or later.

- Added "KD-20", "PD-12P", "PD-10P", "PD-10H", and "PD-8H" to the Trigger Type.
- Added several features that provide more information in the display.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where, when installing Instrument Expansions/Kit Packs from Roland Cloud Connect, if the total number of Instrument Expansions/Kit Packs in the rack was 21 to 23 or more, it would not connect to Roland Cloud via Wi-Fi.

- V71 Drum Sound Module
Wi-Fi status does not change from "Connecting…" to "Connected."
- Fixed an issue where the Low Cut Freq parameter in OUTPUT ROUTING - LOW CUT operated at a lower frequency than the value displayed.
- Fixed an issue where, when using DH-10 (DrumLink Hub) to connect DWe pads or WT-10, the pads might occasionally become unresponsive for a certain period during performance.

Additional Functions
- Kit Packs distributed via Roland Cloud can be imported.
- System program can be updated via Wi-Fi. (Available after updating to Ver.2.00 and the next update onward.)
- Kit Backup data created on V51 and V31 can be loaded onto V71.
- Added Auto Slot Load feature which automatically loads Instrument Expansions/Kit Packs used in a drum kit into the slots when switching kits.
- Added Load All feature which loads all drum kits included in an Instrument Expansion/Kit Pack.
- Added Remove All feature which removes all Instrument Expansions/Kit Packs loaded in the slots.

Additional Functions
- Support for V71 Editor Ver.1.1.2.
- We’ve changed the kit images that are included with the sound contents preinstalled from the factory and also downloaded from Roland Cloud due to reasons such as making the images match the sound concept.
- The sound with the snares off is now more natural (when the PD-14SDX’s snare strainer (throw-off) is released to detach the snare wires on the bottom of the snare drum).
- Added convenient functions for using the Instrument Expansion.
- Support for WT-10 (Wireless Trigger Adapter) and the DH-10 (DrumLink Hub) to wirelessly connect a V-Drums pad or cymbal to the V71.

HOW TO UPDATE VIA Wi-Fi
CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE (VIA Wi-Fi)
- It may take more than 15 minutes to complete the update from the download process.
- Never power-off your V71 while the download or update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the V71 won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
- We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
HOW TO UPDATE (VIA Wi-Fi)
- Turn on the V71.
- When connected to Wi-Fi, a pop-up notification will appear if a new system program is available.
- When the pop-up appears, select "OK" and press the [ENTER] button.
The PROGRAM UPDATE screen will appear, showing the latest version available for download.
- Press the [F6] (EXECUTE) button.
A confirmation screen will appear.
- Select "OK" and press the [ENTER] button.
The system program download will begin.
Once the download is complete, "Ready to Update" will be displayed.
- Press the [SONG] button to start the update.
- When the update is complete, "Update finished." will be displayed.
- Restart the V71 again and confirm that the version has been updated.
--- How to Enable Notifications When a System Program is Released ---
If the pop-up notification for the latest system program does not appear when connected to Wi-Fi, please check the following settings:
- Press the [SETUP] button.
The SETUP screen appears.
- Use the cursor buttons to select "SYSTEM INFO", then press the [ENTER] button.
The SYSTEM INFO - VERSION screen appears.
* If information other than Program Version is displayed, press the [F1] (VERSION) button.
- Check the box for "Pop-up Notification for Updates".
From the next startup onward, a pop-up notification will appear when a new system program is available via Wi-Fi.
HOW TO UPDATE VIA SD CARD
HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
The update procedure differs depending on the version currently in use. Before you start, check the system program version of your V71.
- Press the [SETUP] button.
The SETUP screen appears.
- Use the cursor buttons to select "SYSTEM INFO", then press the [ENTER] button.
The SYSTEM INFO - VERSION screen appears.
- Look at the version number ("Program Version").
* If information other than Program Version is displayed, press the [F1] (VERSION) button.
- Press the [KIT] button to return to the DRUM KIT screen.
* If the latest version is shown, no update is necessary.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE UPDATE

- SD card formatted on the V71
GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Download v71_sys_v210.zip. The downloaded file is an archive in zip format. After downloading it, expand the file. After expanding the file, the folder "v71_sys_v210" holding the file "V71_UPA.BIN" will appear.

- Never apply this update data to any product other than the V71. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your V71 while the update is in progress!

BACKING UP TO SD CARD
--- Before updating, carry out a data backup. ---
- Turn on the V71.
- Insert the SD card into the V71's SD card slot.
- Press the [BACKUP] button.
The BACKUP screen appears.
- Use the cursor buttons to select "SAVE", then press the [ENTER] button.
The SD CARD SAVE ALL screen appears.
- Move the cursor to "With User Samples" and insert a check mark.
- Move the cursor to "Backup Number" and choose a backup number for saving the settings.
- Press the [F6] (SAVE) button.
- Select "OK" and press the [ENTER] button.
The settings are saved in the SD card.
HOW TO UPDATE (VIA SD CARD)
Creating the Update SD Card
- Copy the V71_UPA.BIN file from within the v71_sys_v210 folder to the root directory on the [V71 formatted] SD card.
* Don't simply copy the "v71_sys_v210" folder itself.
- Disconnect the SD card from your computer as follows.
[Windows]
Use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows task tray to un-mount the SD card. And then disconnect the SD card from your computer.
[Mac]
Drag the Drive icon of the SD card into the trash in the dock. And then remove the SD card from your computer.
Update Procedure
- Insert the SD card into the V71's SD card slot.
- Hold down the [SONG] button and turn on the V71.
* Keep holding down the [SONG] button until "PROGRAM UPDATER" appears on display.
The update starts automatically.
- "Update finished." appears in the display when the update process is complete.
- Turn off the power and then eject the SD card from the V71.
- Turn on the V71 and confirm it has been updated to the latest version.
RESTORING THE FACTORY SETTINGS
- Press the [SETUP] button.
The SETUP screen appears.
- Use the cursor buttons to select "FACTORY RESET", then press the [ENTER] button.
FACTORY RESET screen appears.
- Move the cursor to "Reset with User Samples" and insert a check mark.
- Move the cursor to "Reset with Expansion Slots" and insert a check mark.
- Press the [F6] (EXECUTE) button.
- Select "OK" and press the [ENTER] button.
The "Factory Reset" operation will be executed.
* If you want to execute Factory Reset including User License, press the [F1] (REMOVE LIC) button after step 2 and execute Factory Reset in the FACTORY RESET WITH USER LICENSE screen.
* If you execute Factory Reset including the User License, the Instrument Expansions/Kit Packs installed on the V71 will also be erased. After executing Factory Reset, install the Instrument Expansions/Kit Packs again from Roland Cloud Connect or Roland Cloud Manager.
* For more information about User License, refer to the "V71 Roland Cloud User's Guide".
LOADING BACKUP DATA FROM SD CARD
- Turn on the V71.
- Insert the SD card into the V71's SD card slot.
- Press the [BACKUP] button.
The BACKUP screen appears.
- Use the cursor buttons to select "LOAD", then press the [ENTER] button.
The SD CARD LOAD ALL screen appears.
- Move the cursor to "With User Samples" and insert a check mark.
- Move the cursor to "With Expansion Slots" and insert a check mark.
- Move the cursor to "Backup Number" and choose the backup number for importing the settings.
- Press the [F6] (LOAD) button.
- Select "OK" and press the [ENTER] button.
The backup data is loaded from the SD card.
* If the Instrument Expansions/Kit Packs (including the User License) have been uninstalled by executing Factory Reset, loading the backup data will not restore the Rack and Slot data. Please install the Instrument Expansions/Kit Packs again from Roland Cloud Connect or Roland Cloud Manager.
