TD-20 System Program (Ver.1.10)


CAUTION
* This version cannot be used for TD-20 expanded with TDW-20.

How to know the version
Before you start, check the system program version of your TD-20.
  1. Turn on the TD-20.
  2. Press [TOOLS] - [F2 (INFO)] - [F5 (VERSION)].
    The version infromation screen appears.
  3. After verifying the displayed version, switch off the power.
* If this shows the latest version, there's no need to update your TD-20.

Update history
[ Ver.1.10 ]
  • After newly-purchasing or repairing a CY-15R, you might not be able to use choking techniques of bow and bell when using it as a ride cymbal. It was corrected.
    * Update to this version when you use a CY-15R whose serial number is "D5C8468" or more. When the CY-15R is used as a ride cymbal (Three Way Triggering), you can use choking techniques, whereby you stop the sound of bow and bell.

What You'll Need to Update Your TD-20
  • A computer running Windows(R)
  • CompactFlash Card Reader/Writer
  • CompactFlash Card (16 MB – 512 MB) for Update
  • The downloaded update file
You can not make an update CompactFlash card using a Mac.
 
Getting the Updater File
Please open/extract the downloaded "td20_sys_v110.zip" file on your computer to get the "TD20UPD.PRG" and the "TD20UPD.ROM" file.
 

Procedure for Updating
* Never power off your TD-20 while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the TD-20 won't be able to start up in normal operating mode.

* Before you perform the update, we recommend that you save your data to the CompactFlash card.
 
Creating the Update CompactFlash card
  1. Format the CompactFlash card for update on the TD-20.
  2. Copy the update files "TD20UPD.PRG" and "TD20UPD.ROM" onto the root directory of the CompactFlash card.
  3. Un-mount the CompactFlash card using the correct procedure, then disconnect from computer.

Update Procedure
  1. With the power off, Insert the CompactFlash card for update to the TD-20, then turn the TD-20 power on.
  2. The TD-20 Updater screen appears.
  3. Press [F5=UPDATE] to start the update.
    It takes approx. 3 minutes for updating.
  4. When screen shows "Update Completed!", the update is finished.
  5. Turn off the TD-20.
  6. Eject the CompactFlash card, then turn on the TD-20.
  7. Please verify the version number “1.1” with the procedure described in "How to know the version" part of this document.
  8. When the entire update process has been completed, connect the CompactFlash card to your computer and delete the file "TD20UPD.PRG" and "TD20UPD.ROM" from CompactFlash card.
