TM-6 PRO System Program (Ver.1.10)


HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
The update procedure differs depending on the version currently in use. Before you start, check the system program version of your TM-6 PRO.
  1. Press [MENU] button to invoke the MENU screen.
  2. Use the cursor buttons to select "SYS," and then press the [ENTER] button.
  3. Use the cursor buttons to select "System Info," and then press the [ENTER] button.
  4. The current version appears on the display ("Program Ver.").
    * If information other than "Program Ver." is displayed, press the [F1] button (PROG).

* Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.

  • SD Card formatted on the TM-6 PRO

GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Download tm6pro_sys_v110.zip.
The downloaded file is an archive in zip format. After downloading it, expand the file.
After expanding the file, the folder "tm6pro_sys_v110" holding the file "TM6_UPA.BIN" will appear.

CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the TM-6 PRO. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your TM-6 PRO while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the TM-6 PRO won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.

BACKING UP TO SD CARD
--- Before updating, carry out a data backup. ---
  1. Insert the SD Card into the TM-6 PRO's SD card slot.
  2. Press [MENU] button to invoke the MENU screen.
  3. Use the cursor buttons to select "SYS," and then press the [ENTER] button.
  4. Use the cursor buttons to select "SD Card," and then press the [ENTER] button.
  5. Use the cursor buttons to select "Save Backup," and then press the [ENTER] button.
    The SD CARD SAVE BACKUP screen appears.
  6. Move the cursor to "Bank" and choose a backup number for saving the settings.
  7. Press the [F3] (NEXT) button.
  8. Press the [F3] (EXECUTE) button.
  9. Select "OK" and press the [ENTER] button.
    The settings are saved in the SD card.

HOW TO UPDATE
Creating the Update SD Card
  1. Copy the TM6_UPA.BIN file from within the tm6pro_sys_v110 folder to the root directory on the [TM-6 PRO formatted] SD card.
    * Don't simply copy the "tm6pro_sys_v110" folder itself.
  2. Disconnect the SD Card from your computer as follows.
    [Windows]
    Use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows task tray to un-mount the SD Card. And then disconnect the SD Card from your computer.
    [Mac]
    Drag the Drive icon of the SD Card into the trash in the dock. And then remove the SD Card from your computer.
 
Update Procedure
  1. Insert the SD Card into the TM-6 PRO's SD card slot.
  2. Power on while holding the [CLICK] button.
  3. When " === update === " appears at the top left of the display, you can release the Song Record button.
  4. " = update finished.= " appears in the display when the update process is complete.
  5. Turn off the power and then eject the SD card from the TM-6 PRO.
  6. Detach the SD Card, then turn the TM-6 PRO on and verify that the version has been updated.

RESTORING THE FACTORY SETTINGS
  1. Press [MENU] button to invoke the MENU screen.
  2. Use the cursor buttons to select "SYS," and then press the [ENTER] button.
  3. Use the cursor buttons to select "Factory Reset," and then press the [ENTER] button.
  4. Press the [F3] (FACTORY RESET) button.
  5. Select "OK" and press the [ENTER] button.
    The "Factory Reset" operation will be executed.

LOADING BACKUP DATA FROM AN SD CARD
  1. Insert the SD Card into the TM-6 PRO's SD card slot.
  2. Press [MENU] button to invoke the MENU screen.
  3. Use the cursor buttons to select "SYS," and then press the [ENTER] button.
  4. Use the cursor buttons to select "SD Card," and then press the [ENTER] button.
  5. Use the cursor buttons to select "Load Backup," and then press the [ENTER] button.
    The SD CARD LOAD BACKUP screen appears.
  6. Move the cursor to "Bank" and choose the backup number for importing the settings.
  7. Press the [F3] (EXECUTE) button.
  8. Select "OK" and press the [ENTER] button.
    The backup data is loaded from the SD card.
