WORKSTATION

A new breed of workstation with a large graphical LCD. This 76-key workstation featured professional XV-5080 quality sounds and a wide range of realtime performance functions. The FA-76 was the stepping stone between the XP / XV family and the successful Fantom S, X and G series to come.

The HPi-5 introduced DigiScore, a new way of practicing the piano via a screen built into the music rest, with automatic page turning as you played.

V-CYMBALS

With the launch of the CY and VH series V-Cymbals, drummers could finally experience the familiar feel and movement of their acoustic cymbal cousin but with near silence. V-Cymbals mounted on standard cymbal stands and featured edge and bow triggers while the rubber coating provided the excellent rebound important for advanced playing.

SH-32 / SYNTHESIZER

After 20 years in retirement, the “SH” prefix was revived, evoking images of the first SH-series, plus programmable arpeggiator and many other new features.

The re-introduction of the Cube lineup, courtesy of two affordable-but-powerful amps. The new Cube range would quickly expand and become very popular with guitarists everywhere.

V-SYNTH
POWERFUL HYBRID SYNTH

Equipped with an advanced VariPhrase and COSM engine, this synthesizer could create completely new sounds. Variphrase technology allowed realtime control of waveform pitch, time, and formant for organic and animated sounds. It also offered analog-modeling synthesis, COSM filtering, and the unique TimeTrip Pad.

The BOSS Legend Series were modeling pedals that emulated three classic Fender amps and effects: a 1959 tweed Bassman Amp, a 1965 blackface DeluxeReverb Amp, and a 1963 brownface Fender Reverb Unit. Each pedal allowed guitarists to recreate the sound of Fender’s vintage tone monsters with any amp.

The battery-powered AX-Synth was an eye-catching 49-key remote keyboard with a high-quality sound generator onboard. Equipped with powerful, solo-oriented sounds it became a firm favorite with performers wanting to take centre stage.
