Q.I have a V-Drums kit with a TD-20 sound module, and I can't get a loud snare sound unless I strike directly in the center of the snare pad. Why is this?

In comparison to the TD-10 and other TD-series modules, the TD-20 has an expanded dynamic range for the snare trigger. For this reason, you may feel that you cannot produce a loud enough snare sound unless you strike directly in the center of the snare pad.

If this is the case, you can try one or more of the following on the TD-20:

  • In the TRIGGER BASIC screen, slightly increase the snare pad's "Sensitivity" setting.
  • In the TRIGGER BASIC screen, change the snare pad's "Curve" setting.

If you are still unable to obtain a satisfactory response, try the following:

  • In the MIXER MIN VOL screen, increase the minimum volume for the snare trigger.
