Q.Are the pads on the SP-404 / SP-303 velocity-sensitive?

A.No. The pads of the SP-404 and SP-303 are not velocity-sensitive.
However, after using the pads to record MIDI note messages in the SP-404/SP-303’s pattern sequencer, you can adjust the volume of each note message after the fact by editing its MIDI velocity value.
