Q.What is a drum trigger?

A.A drum trigger is a sensor that allows you to use an acoustic drum to trigger electronically produced drum sounds such as those in a Roland TD-series (V-Drums) sound module.

The drum trigger should be attached to the rim of an acoustic drum. The trigger's sensor detects the vibration of the head when you strike the drum, and the timing and force of your strike is conveyed to the sound module as a trigger signal.

Note: The drum trigger itself does not contain an internal sound generator.
