Q.Can a battery-powered condenser mic be connected to the R-1?

A.Yes, you can connect a battery-powered condenser mic to the R-1 and use it for recording.

You must first set the mic type select switch to [DYN], and then connect your battery-powered condenser mic.

Note:
If the switch is in the [CND] position, a voltage of approximately 2 V is constantly applied to the mic input jack (support for plug-in powered mics). If you connect a battery-powered condenser mic in this state, the mic or the R-1 could be damaged. For this reason you must be sure that the switch is set to the [DYN] position.
