A.You can use the DP-8 / DP-10 for half-damper if you connect it to the EXPRESSION jack of the PCR. You will need to make the settings described below.
Required settings in order to connect the DP-8 / DP-10 to the PCR series and transmit half-pedal messages
Set the switch located on the side of the DP-8 / DP-10 to "Continuous"
On the PCR series, use EDIT-CONTROL CHANGE ASSIGN to assign P2 to CC64.
- Press the [EDIT] button.
- Press and release the DP-8 / DP-10 pedal that's connected to the EXPRESSION jack.
- Press the [ENTER] button.
- Press [ENTER].
- Use the [DEC][INC] buttons etc. to specify the MIDI transmit channel.
- Press [ENTER].
- Use the [DEC][INC] buttons etc. to specify 64 as the CC number.
- Press [ENTER].
NOTES:
- Even if you've made the above settings, only on/off operations will be possible in the case the MIDI sound module you've connected does not implement half-damper messages.
Roland MIDI sound modules that implement half-damper messages include the XV-5080 and the Fantom XR.
- If the switch located on the side of the DP-8 / DP-10 is set to the "Switch" position, you can connect it to either the HOLD jack or the EXPRESSION jack of the PCR, but in this case it will not function as a half-pedal.
