A.You can use the MC-909 as a MIDI sound module or a sampler.

The Remote Keyboard Switch will determine how the MC-909 responds to various channels of MIDI.

• When the remote keyboard switch "ON"
  The selected part on the MC-909 is played regardless of which MIDI channel the MC-909 receives. This makes connecting a controller keyboard easier when you plan on using the MC-909's sequencer.
• When the remote keyboard switch "OFF"
  The MC-909 works as a 16-part multitimbre sound module. The MC-909 distinguish the MIDI channels that it receives, and each part will sound independently on each MIDI channel. The part number is identical to the MIDI channel for the MC-909.
