Q.What can I do using the MC-808's eight motorized faders?

A.The MC-808's eight motorized faders allow you to control many part parameters in real time. All eight faders can be used simultaneously, making for convenient control in DJ performances and other live performance situations. With their built-in motor mechanisms, the faders automatically move according to the most recently recorded pattern data, giving you instant visual indication of the current parameters.

The following functions can be controlled with the MC-808's motorized faders.

  1. Adjustment of volume, pan, and other parameter settings for each part in real time.

Adjusting the volume of each part (Part Level):

    1. Press PART LEVEL so it lights. The faders automatically move to the current level of each part. Press PART ASSIGN to select the group of parts that can be controlled with the faders:
---If PART ASSIGN is dark—Parts 1-8 are controlled by the faders.
---If PART ASSIGN is lit—Parts 9-16 are controlled by the faders.
    2. Move the motorized faders to adjust the volume of each part. Raising a fader will increase the volume, and lowering it will decrease the volume.

Adjusting the stereo position of each part (Part Pan)

You can adjust the panning position of each sound that is output in stereo from the OUTPUT jacks (MIX L/R, DIRECT L/R) and PHONES jack.
    1. Press PART PAN so it lights. The faders automatically move to the current pan position of each part. Press PART ASSIGN to select the group of parts that can be controlled with the faders:
---If PART ASSIGN is dark—Parts 1-8 are controlled by the faders.
---If PART ASSIGN is lit—Parts 9-16 are controlled by the faders.
    2. Move the motorized faders to adjust the pan position of each part. Raising a fader will move the panning to the right, and lowering it will move the panning to the left.

  2. Quick and efficient editing of sounds (patches and tones) and rhythm sets.

The most appropriate parameters for patch editing have been selected and assigned to the faders so that you can create original sounds efficiently and intuitively. Since the motorized faders follow any changes in real time, the sound editing process is made clear and easy.
    1. In Pattern mode, select the patch or rhythm set that you want to edit.
    2. Press SYNTHESIZER1 or SYNTHESIZER2.
The faders will move automatically according to the current patch settings.
    3. Move the faders to edit the patch or rhythm set.

  3. Recording of fader movements during realtime pattern recording.

Any of the functions described above can be recorded in real time using the motorized faders.
