*1: If you initialize a 2 GB SD memory card on the MICRO BR, only 1 GB of the storage space of the card will be usable.

Once you initialize a 2 GB SD memory card on the MICRO BR, the card can no longer be returned to a capacity of 2 GB.

Important Notices:

• This FAQ does NOT guarantee that all the SD cards in the above table will work properly with your MICRO BR. The SD cards may not function because of electronic design variations in the memory itself or the conditions of usage.
• All compatibility testing was done in Japan for SD cards available at the Japanese market. As such, please be advised that the listed SD cards may not be available outside Japan.
• When you use an SD memory card available in the market, initialize it by the MICRO BR beforehand. If you fail to initialize the card by the MICRO BR, it won’t work with the MICRO BR properly.
• Remove SD card only while the MICRO BR is down. Removing SD card from the MICRO BR which is up and running may result in corruption of data recorded on the card or damage to the card itself.
• The MICRO BR is shipped with an SD card inserted in the card slot. This SD card contains song data.
  If you initialize the SD card (by performing the command FORMAT) all data on the card will be erased, and you won’t be able to restore it. As a precaution, we recommend you to make a complete backup of the contents of the supplied SD card before you begin using the MICRO BR.
  That way, you’ll be able to recover the original data even if you mistakenly erase the card at the worst. For instructions on how to make a backup, please refer to the “Backing Up” from the owner’s manual.
• SD cards except listed above may not working properly with the MICRO BR.
