Q.BOSS makes foot volume pedals in both high-impedance and low-impedance models. What model should I use with my guitar setup?

A.

  • If you wish to use an effect or the TU-2 before the volume pedal, choose the FV-300L / FV-50L / FV-500L (low impedance input model) Foot Volume.
  • If you wish to connect a guitar with passive pickups directly to the volume pedal, choose the FV-300H / FV-50H / FV-500H (high impedance input model) Foot Volume.
    (Note: The FV-300H is out of production.)
  • If you wish to connect a guitar with active pickups or a built-in preamp directly to the volume pedal, choose the FV-300L / FV-500L / FV-50L (low impedance input model) Foot Volume.
