A.The Digital Snake system uses REAC (Roland Ethernet Audio Communication) for data transfer through a standard Ethernet cable. The REAC device-to-device latency is approximately 0.375 microseconds (one-way digital transmission over a single 100 meter cable).
When A/D and D/A conversion is added, the total latency is approximately 1.2 milliseconds.
Note:
An Ethernet switching hub can be used to extend REAC signals and/or send them to multiple REAC devices. If the REAC signal passes through a switching hub, approximately 0.2 microseconds of latency may be added.
