D-BASS 210

D-Bass Amplifier

Q.What can I adjust using the EFFECT BLEND knob on the front panel of the D-BASS 115 and 210?

A.The D-BASS 115 and 210 feature EFFECT SEND and RETURN jacks, allowing for the connection of an external effect unit. The EFFECT BLEND knob is used to adjust the mix balance between the sound from the external effect unit and the direct sound of the D-BASS 115/210. (The "direct sound" is the sound that has passed through the D-BASS's COSM amp, compression, and three-band EQ.)

The following describes various settings of the EFFECT BLEND control:

  • If EFFECT BLEND is turned fully counter-clockwise, you will hear 100% direct sound. No effect sound is heard, effectively shutting off the effect unit.
  • If EFFECT BLEND is turned fully clockwise, you will hear 100% effect sound. With this setting, the external effect unit is connected in series with the D-BASS. This is useful when a serial processor such as a compressor or equalizer is used.
  • If EFFECT BLEND is in the center position (12 o'clock), you will hear equal amounts of the direct sound and the effect sound. With settings such as this (in-between fully clockwise or fully counter-clockwise), the external effect unit is connected in parallel with the D-BASS. This is especially convenient when using a delay or reverb effect: On the external effect unit, set the mix to 100% effect sound, and then use the D-BASS's EFFECT BLEND knob to adjust the amount of effect sound that's blended with the D-BASS's direct sound.
