Q.Is the BR-1180CD / BR-1600CD compatible with 8 cm CD-R discs?

A.In most instances, we have observed that the BR-1180CD and BR-1600CD can read and write 8 cm CD-R discs with no problems (as of October 2004).

With some discs, however, we have encountered problems such as unreliable writing and reading, or discs that are simply not recognized by the BR-series unit. These problems are due to slight differences in CD-R/RW media between manufacturers, as well as incompatibilities between certain discs and the disc drives used in the BR-series units. Because of this, we cannot ensure compatibility in all cases.
