What you will need to recover your SPD-SX
- SPD-SX
- PC to write the files to the USB flash drive
- USB flash drive ( Roland's M-UF2G is recommended )
* It needs to be formatted with MS-DOS file system (FAT or FAT32) on a PC.
Getting the recover files
Please open/extract the downloaded "spdsx_fact_data.zip" file on your computer to get the factory settings file in the "spdsx_fact_data" folder.
Restoring All the Factory Default Settings
[CAUTION]
* When you execute the procedures of this "Restoring All the Factory Default Settings" section, all data in your SPD-SX will be overwritten. If it contains important data that you want to keep, save it to a USB flash drive before you proceed.
Creating the USB memory for update
- Connect the USB memory to the USB connector of your computer.
- Copy the extracted "Roland" folder in the above to the root folder of the USB memory.
* Copy not each content in the "Roland" folder, but the entire folder.
- Disconnect the USB memory from your computer as follows.
[ Windows ]
Use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows task tray to un-mount the USB memory. And then disconnect the USB memory from your computer.
[ Mac ]
Drag the Drive icon of the USB memory into the trash in the dock. And then remove the USB memory from your computer.
Loading wave and kit data from a USB Flash Drive
- Connect your USB flash drive to the USB MEMORY connector.
- Choose [MENU] -> [UTILITY] -> [LOAD (USB MEM)].
The LOAD (USB MEMORY) screen will appear.
- Use the cursor buttons to select "ALL," and then press the [ENTER] button.
- Use the cursor buttons to select "Factory_V101," and then press the [ENTER] button.
A confirmation message will appear.
If you decide to cancel without executing, press the [EXIT] button.
- Press the [ENTER] button.
The data will be loaded.
Initializing the SYSTEM parameters of SPD-SX to the factory settings (SYSTEM INIT)
- Choose [MENU] -> [SYSTEM].
The SYSTEM screen will appear.
- Choose [QUICK MENU] -> [SYSTEM INIT], and then press the [ENTER] button.
A confirmation message will appear.
If you decide to cancel without executing, press the [EXIT] button.
- Press the [ENTER] button.
The SYSTEM parameters will be initialized.
Initializing the SETUP parameters of SPD-SX to the factory settings (SETUP INIT)
- Choose [MENU] -> [SETUP].
The SYSTEM screen will appear.
- Choose [QUICK MENU] -> [SETUP INIT], and then press the [ENTER] button.
A confirmation message will appear.
If you decide to cancel without executing, press the [EXIT] button.
- Press the [ENTER] button.
The SETUP parameters will be initialized.
