This is the factory preset data of the demo phrases.
You can initialize the phrase memory of the RC-3/RC-30 to the factory preset demo data by copying the WAV files included in this data to it.

What you will need to recover your RC-3/RC-30
- RC-3/RC-30
- USB cable (It must be compatible with USB 2.0 Hi-Speed.)
- A computer with a USB connector (Windows XP/Vista/7, MacOS X)
Getting the recover files
Please open/extract the downloaded “rc3_demo_phrases.zip” file on your computer to get the recover files in the “rc3_demo_phrases” folder.
Restoring the demo phrases to your RC-3/RC-30
NOTE
* Put off one WAV file in the each folder "0XX_1" in the folder "ROLAND" - "WAVE." (The XX in “0XX_1” is the phrase memory number.)
* If a WAV file is in the folder previously, delete the phrase by the procedure of the "Deleting a Phrase" section on the owner's manual or remove the WAV file in the folder after backing up the WAV file to your computer.
* You must not do the following operations on restoring. Doing so might make your computer freeze, or might result in the loss of all of the RC-3/RC-30's data.
- Turn off the RC-3/RC-30's power.
- Disconnect the USB cable.
- Allow your computer to enter suspend (standby) or hibernate mode, restart it, or shut it down.
- Turn on the RC-3/RC-30’s power (insert a plug into the OUTPUT A(L) jack).
* The RC-3/RC-30 will not operate on USB bus power. We recommend that you use an AC adaptor (sold separately) to ensure that the power does not turn off while connected via USB.
- Use a commercially available USB cable to connect the RC-3/RC-30's USB connector to your computer's USB connector
When the RC-3/RC-30 is recognized from your computer correctly, the display of the RC-3/RC-30 will indicate "Cn".
* You can’t make USB connections if the RC-3/RC-30 is not stopped, or if there is a phrase that has not been saved.
- Open the folder "WAVE" in the folder "ROLAND" on the drive "BOSS_RC-3(BOSS_RC-30)."
[ Windows users ]
Within My Computer (or Computer), open "BOSS_RC-3(BOSS_RC-30)" (or Removable Disk).
[ Mac OS users ]
On the desktop, open the "BOSS_RC-3(BOSS_RC-30)" icon.
- Copy (drag and drop) the each files "090_1.WAV" - "099_1.WAV" in the folder "rc3_demo_phrases" into the each folders "090_1" - "099_1" in the folder "WAVE."
- After the copy has been completed, unmount or remove the drive on your computer.
* Refer to the step four of the "Connecting to Your Computer via USB" section in the owner's manual.
- Disconnect the USB cable from your computer.
- After displaying the message "dC" on the display, press the [RHYTHM ON/OFF] button.
The “dC” indication will disappear from the display, and the RC-3/RC-30 will return to normal operation.
