When he was 20 years old, DJKENTARO became the first Asian to win the world title at the 2002 DMC DJ Championship, a competition for the best DJs in the world. He later released a mix album and a DVD of his tour. In April 2006, he signed with Ninja Tune, a prominent label in the UK. In the spring of 2007, his first solo album, Enter, was released worldwide and entered Top-10 on the American iTunes Music Store's dance chart.
