Installing Virtual Sound Canvas DXi Microsoft (R) Windows Vista (TM)

Virtual Sound Canvas DXi (VSC DXi) is a software synthesizer that's compatible with DirectX Instrument (DXi). Thanks to VSC DXi, you can gain ready access to an enormous wealth of GM1, GM2, or GS format sounds with your DXi programs.

Important Note: A DXi-compatible program (herein referred to as "Host Application") is required in order to use VSC DXi.

The irtual Sound Canvas DXi programs themselves are provided on the CD-ROM included with your product.

[Installation]

Install the software as follows.

* Before you carry out the following steps, you must log on to Windows as a user whose account type is Administrator.

1. Close all currently running software (applications).
2. In the [VSC-DXi] folder of the your CD-ROM, right-click "Setup (Setup.exe)". From the menu that appears, choose [Properties].
3. Click the [Compatibility] tab, the window of compatibility opens.
4. Check the [Run this program in compatibility mode for:] in the colum of [Compatibility mode]
5. In the "Compatibility mode" list, select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)."
6. Click [OK], close the property.
7. Double-click "Setup (Setup.exe)".
8. "An unidentified program wants access to your computer" will appear click [allow].
9. The installer will start up. When the "PCR Editor Setup" screen appears, click [Next].
10. A screen will indicate "Please read the following license agreement carefully." Read the license agreement, and if you accept the terms, click [Yes]. If you click [No], the installation will be terminated.
11. The "Choose Destination Location" screen will appear. If you accept the default location, click [Next]. If you want to change the installation destination, click [Browse] and specify the desired folder.
12. In the "Confirmation of installation" screen, verify that the settings shown are correct, and click [Next]. If you decide to specify a different installation location, click [Back].
13. When the files have been copied, the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen will appear. Click [Finish].

This completes installation of Virtual Sound Canvas DXi.

[Usage]
For information on how to use the DXi software synthesizer with a Host Application, refer to the Host Application's documentation.

For a description of the features of VSC DXi, refer to the program's help screens. To view help, in Windows, click the Start button, then select "Program" - "Virtual Sound Canvas DXi" - "Help."

[Uninstallation]

* In order to uninstall software, you must log on to Windows as a user who has administrative privileges.

1. Click the Windows Start button, then click Control Panel.
2. In "Programs," click "Uninstall a program."
3. In the "Uninstall or change a program" list, click "Virtual Sound Canvas DXi."
4. Click [Uninstall].
5. When the "Windows needs your permission to continue" screen appears, click [Continue].
6. Follow the on-screen directions to uninstall the software.
