To assure the best possible piano sound, Roland has further improved its highly-acclaimed sound source for the HP-3. The result is rich, resonant tones and a subtlety of expression virtually identical to that of a concert grand piano. You also get 64-voice polyphony, plus Roland's unique Progressive Hammer-Action Keyboard, providing a lighter touch in the upper range and heavier touch in the lower range, just like an acoustic grand!

In addition to exceptionally realistic piano sound, the HP-3 offers a wide range of other high-quality instrument sounds. And for even more performance fun, you can use the Split mode to select a different instrument for each hand, giving an instant duo effect. Or combine two sounds for Dual mode play. For extra control in Dual mode, you can also easily adjust the volume balance of the two sounds used.

Besides its built-in metronome, the HP-3 features an easy-to-use Rhythm function that provides natural rhythms to practice and play along with. There's also a built-in 2-track recorder for recording your performances and checking your progress along the way.

There are also 65 preset songs, with the scores for 60 classical pieces included. You can mute the left or right hand part of each of the songs, and practice playing just that part. Your children can also have fun developing their ear for music while playing a note-guessing game.
