The HP-2 features Roland’s unique Progressive Hammer Action Keyboard, the culmination of years of keyboard research. With a heavier touch in the lower range, and a lighter touch in the upper—just like an acoustic grand piano—this authentic-touch keyboard feels completely natural. For still more dynamic expression, it even simulates the touch resistance of an acoustic grand, with a lighter response on soft pianissimo passages, and a stronger response when playing fortissimo.

The HP-2’s specially-developed speaker system maximizes the richness and depth of Roland’s piano sound source. A higher grade and more powerful than that used in previous models, the speakers deliver a truly dynamic and vibrant sound.

In addition to a metronome, which is indispensable for practicing, the HP-2 features a built-in 2-track recorder that lets you record your performances and play them back to check your progress.

Another fun way to practice is to listen and play along with the 65 preset songs—everything from classical masterpieces to well-known and often-used practice songs. The scores for the 60 classical presets are included, so you can start practicing as soon as you bring the HP-2 home. And, you can choose to play just the left hand or just the right hand part of each song, for easy practice.

In addition to realistic piano sound, the HP-2 offers a wide range of other high-quality instrument sounds. You can even enjoy Dual mode and Split mode play for extra flexibility and expression. In Dual mode, you can also adjust the volume balance of the two sounds as desired.
