V-Synth GT Demo by Jordan Rudess

Jordan Rudess: Keyboard wizard of the progressive rock band “Dream Theater”. In 2007, they released their 10th studio album “Systematic Chaos”. At just the age of nine, he entered the prestigious Julliard and studied classical piano. As an avid user of the V-Synth from its first model and currently using the V-Synth XT rack live, Jordan played the latest V-Synth GT as a duo performance with drummer Rod Morgenstein in the US, Japan, Germany, and the UK. Jordan also designed preset patches for the V-Synth XT and GT

AP Synthesis
“Violin” & “Violin II”: This is V-Synth GT’s AP-S violin accompanied by Fantom-X8 strings. By using the two switches above the Pitch Bend / Modulation Lever, you can quickly switch and play pizzicatos or tremolos.

“Erhu”: This is the sound of the Chinese traditional violin, the “Erhu”. Jordan is also playing a mystic pad sound on the Fantom-X8. The AP-S models the characteristic response of the portamento, and allows you to play emotionally.

“Flute”: This is V-Synth GT’s AP-S flute accompanied by Fantom-X8 strings. The AP-S flute accurately responds to how the keyboard is played, and is able to reproduce the delicate nuances of trills and the difference in dynamics.

Vocal Designer
Example 1 - 4: The Vocal Designer enables you play realistic choirs or electronic voices by utilizing your voice and words you sing.

V-Synth GT Patch
Example 1 - 2: With the Dual Core structure, you can combine or split two tones to create various sounds. You can modify the sounds in realtime by waving your hand (or your head!) over the D Beam, or by sliding your finger across the Time Trip Pad.

Full V-Synth GT Patch
AP-S + Vocal Designer + Tone: The V-Synth GT is able to play the Vocal Designer, another sound (Tone), and the AP-S sound all at the same time!

Closing Tune
Closing Tune: A song from Jordan’ solo album “Rhythm Of Time”. V-Drums by Charlie Zeleny.
