The Power of Three! Triple Inputs & REC Modes

The new head of its class is the multifaceted TRI-CAPTURE USB interface — a unique, compact audio interface optimized for personal and mobile recording, vocal and guitar recording, and streaming-internet applications. With its mixer-like design and dedicated front-panel controls, TRI-CAPTURE makes it easy to mix, control, and monitor a variety of signals. Plug a microphone into the XLR input, an instrument into the 1/4-inch jack, and a stereo instrument or device into the AUX input. The unique REC MODE section provides instant selection of recording scenarios, including LOOP BACK for web streaming applications. TRI-CAPTURE is full-featured yet portable, and is USB bus powered for a clean, simple setup.

  • - Affordable, easy-to-use interface for guitarists, vocalists, and other musicians
  • - Also works great for video production, web streaming, and creating podcasts with unique LOOP BACK function
  • - XLR mic input with phantom power, plus 1/4-inch input with Hi-Z switch for connecting a guitar directly
  • - Stereo AUX input with dedicated volume control
  • - Balanced 1/4-inch TRS outputs and headphone jack
  • - Low-latency ASIO driver; recording and playback at rates up to 24-bit/96 kHz
  • - USB bus powered with 24-bit/96 kHz operation
  • - Cakewalk SONAR X1 LE included

Hands-On Work Surface

More akin to a mixer than audio interface in its industrial design, TRI-CAPTURE gives you hands-on controls for the most essential recording parameters. Three input paths are clearly labeled, with dedicated input knobs, peak indicators, and switches for phantom power and Hi-Z input. A unique REC MODE section lets you choose instantly between three recording scenarios: MIC/GUITAR, MIXING, and LOOP BACK (optimized for web streaming applications such as Ustream). A master mute switch is also provided, as well as an INPUT MONITOR switch.

Flexible I/O

TRI-CAPTURE is equipped to handle a wide variety of patching scenarios. Plug an instrument into the 1/4-inch inputs (with Hi-Z switch), plug a microphone into the XLR mic input (with phantom power switch), and plug stereo instruments or devices into the AUX input. Balanced 1/4-inch TRS outputs and a stereo headphone jack are provided as well. The USB terminal is your one-cable connection to your Mac or PC. TRI-CAPTURE is USB bus powered so no separate AC connection is required.

A History of USB Innovation

Roland introduced the world's first USB MIDI Interface, the S-MPU64, in 1998, as well as the world's first USB audio interface, the UA-100. In 1999 Roland debuted the world’s first USB MIDI sound module, the SC-8850, which realized a total of 96 simultaneous parts. In 2003, we launched the world’s first multi-port Hi-Speed USB (USB 2.0) audio recording interface, the UA-1000.
More than just being the first, however, Roland has maintained a meticulous track record of product stability. Stable, low-latency ASIO drivers are the basis of our USB products. We develop our USB MIDI/Audio drivers in house, which allows us to optimize the specs for each product, and gives us the flexibility to quickly update our drivers to correspond new OS releases and to add new features.
